Five Star Beef, owned by ANZCO Foods, one of New Zealand’s largest exporters of beef and lamb, recently completed trials tracking livestock using RAIN RFID. First results prove groundbreaking reliability and accuracy.
An uninterrupted system of identification supports disease management, global food traceability and customer confidence. While Low-frequency (LF) RFID is the global standard, farm managers are currently experiencing difficulties recording their livestock’s movements safely and efficiently.
Times-7 helped set up a RAIN RFID enabled gantry at a feedlot with robust and reliable high-gain antennas. Over several months large groups of tagged cattle were run through it. The results show that RAIN RFID outperforms LF in many ways.
